Week 1
Washington Just the Tips @ Louisville Jaguars
A remarkably ugly game filled with 3 and outs and needless penalties. The Jags had the chance to send the game into OT with a 50yd FG at the end of the 4th. But the kick.... was no good! Just the Tips 17, Jags 14.

San Diego Fairies @ Dutch Mountains
AWEFUL, just bloody aweful. The offenses were offensive. The quarterbacks went full Sanchez and threw 3 picks each and no TDs. The lead rushers went 20 carries for 50 yards and 17 carries for 52 yards respectively, both with no TDs. Eventually it came done to overtime where, again, nobody was able to score. That was, until after the 4th possession, where the Fairies were able to run down a short field and tap in the winning field goal. Fairies 9, Mountains 6.
Obligatory reaction:

A lesson for my fellow noobs:
Yoshis Island Yoshis starring their shiny 99-rating QB, Andrew Manuel. Coach Yoshi sees that USA Freedom has a 99-rating CB1, so dials up 80% passes and with full focus on WR2/TE.
Andrew Manuel throws 5 picks!
LOL
Also, I thought it'd be fun to go for 2-pt conversions 100% of the time. The Yoshis lost 10-9, on a missed 2-pt conversion.
LOL
A more standard game plan next time.

The first game of the Carolina Wild season versus the Detroit Convicts was a nailbiter.
http://deeproute.com/deeproute/default.asp?js=loggerinc&viewpbp=0000390000390201301028024
On the Carolina Wild's fifth play from scrimmage their young gun Lonnie Elsinger is slammed to the turf and sustains a minor injury to his throwing arm. He returned to play the next drive but was clearly favoring his right shoulder and his passes looked inaccurate for the remainder of the day.
After a back and forth defensive struggle in the first half both offenses began to move the ball well on their own side of the field but hit solid brick walls shortly after crossing midfield.
It came down to the Wild's last drive starting with just 6 minutes left in the 4th quarter. A combination of clutch throws by Elsinger and devastating runs by Shirley the Wild gets down to the Convict 34 yard line.
The next play from scrimmage Elsinger hits star receiver Jeffery Moore on a 10 yard slant that he takes for 20 down to the 13 yard line. The Wild's jumbo package hustles on to the field and halfback Justin Shirley explodes through the right side A gap with a touchdown saving tackle at the 2 yard line made by Convict free safety Devon West.
It's all for naught, as with 1:15 left in the game Justin Shirley powers through the right side A gap again for the go ahead touchdown.
Game over! The Wild win!
Errr... not so fast.
Convict QB Edward Gurney is not about to go down without a fight. Starting from his own 20 he's harried, pressured, and the running game can't surprise the defense, but a huge 3rd down throw to pick up a first on his own 30 yard line sparks an onslaught of 10-15 yard completions that marches his team all the way down to the Wild 30 yard line.
With 19 seconds to play he lines his offense up in a single back 3 WR formation and sees star WR Hector Banuelos with a step on cornerback Salvador Mavai on the deep flag.
He fires the ball 17 yards downfield and it looks like once again he has shredded the Wild defense when Mavai leaps into the air to make the game saving interception at his own 13 yard line!
Elsinger jogs out on to the field one more time to take a knee to finish running out the clock on a hard fought battle.

BAHAHAHA.
WE SCORED THREE POINTS.
My team is a team that absolutely can not play from behind. My QB is shaky at best, and my running game has dominant potential. So when I'm down 7-0 in the first and 14-3 in the second, I'm not going to win.
I thought I told my team to run more than it passed. We rushed 19 times and passed 38. My QB threw two picks. We fumbled three times, though I don't know how many we lost off the top of my head. We dropped four passes.
We're undisciplined as all hell. I wish there was an option to get my team in gear and to be less pathetic.

The sim will adjust the % of rushes to passes. Based on the score of the game. Winning it will rush more than pass. Losing. It will pass to try to make up the point difference.

WEEK 2
Yeah, now it's actually time to gloat.
In, what could be, the upset of the week the Dutch Mountains show in New England that defenses win championships. NEs number 1 WR and hero of last weeks victory Val Harp is held to only 4 catches on 12 targets by 'average' CB and game MVP Robert Cole. Because the Dutch offense is not that great punches get traded until deep in the 4th quarter leading to a 10-10 score at the 2 minute warning. Thanks to a 3rd down penalty by the NE defense the Dutch offense is able to continue the drive, and with 1:27 left in the game the QB 'unleashes the dragon' with a 50 yard bomb to the NE 2 yard line. After two runs they are able to run it in to get a 7 point lead with only 34 seconds on the clock. NEs top rated(96/99) QB Brian Joeckel tries his best with a couple of long balls, but on 3rd down with time running out the long bomb to the endzone gets intercepted for a touchback, giving the Dutch Mountains their (clearly objectively ) earned victory.
AAAWH YEAH...Defense power

Week 2. Second Verse, same as the first.
The Buffalo Bulls hosted division rival New York Jetz, and the outcome was eerily similar to last week. Samuel Lavergne, Bulls QB, bafflingly threw 48 times, completing 25 of them for 208 yards and no TDs. Christopher Howell had 23 rushes for 69 yards, for 3.0 YPC.
On the Jetz side, QB Craig Flowers went 11-23 for 114 yards, 2 TD and an INT. With a commanding 7-0 lead, and a 14-3 final, the Jetz rushed a total of 33 times for 88 yards.
One of these weeks, we'll win the coin toss and actually attempt to rush the ball. The defense is holding up for the most part, but our anemic offense simply can not put points on the board. Penalties are killing drives, sometimes accruing three per drive. Miscues are killing this team, and it's all mental.
FINAL: 14-3 Jetz.
We've scored six points on the season.
EDIT: Our kicker also went 1-3, missing a 47 and a having a 44 blocked.
